Are We Simply Too Obsessed With Simplicity – Especially The Church?

I am more and more troubled as of late by a certain stigma of communication. Yes, “stigma” – I choose that word on purpose. If you’ve ever been on the wrong side of it, then you’d know the common disdain for this is that sincere. I’ve begun to wonder if catering to it is actually beneficial though.

What am I talking about? The infatuation with “simplicity” in communication – which, by the way, also means “short”. In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s actually all it means to most! So could someone be allowed to talk about it? I’ll try to keep it as short and sweet as possible… ironically.

Quick Reminder: Suggest Your Tips For Life Tuesday Ideas!

I know many of you visted the blog this last week for the Tips For Life Tuesday posting, and I’ve received a lot of feedback on this series I began. Only, the feedback wasn’t on here!

I’m so thankful for the positive feedback and the excitement. I’m happy to help out!

However, because of this, I’m just tossing up a quick reminder here that I would love it if you would hop over to this page: Announcing Tips For Life Tuesdays! and leave some questions or suggestions of anything you’d like covered!

Many of you have expressed that you’re super excited to learn more about features and possibilities with social media and technology, but this doesn’t have to be limited to that! For example, one I plan on doing soon will be a tip for memorizing scripture! I have others planned on time management and favorite apps! They can really be anything as long as it’s possible to give practical advice on it.

I know I’ve heard so many of you say, “Oh I’d love to know more about (insert general idea).” So even if you don’t know specific questions to ask, just let me know what you’re interested in! Excited to hear from you soon! GO TELL ME!

The Danger Of False Heavens and 3 Ways To Relax

Are you struggling lately with an overwhelming sense of being overwhelmed? Ya know, that weird state of “this isn’t right.” Frustrated cause “that person needs to get it together” and worn out cause “my schedule is relentless and task list endless” and “I need to get it together!” Any of that sound familiar? I mean, if not, I could keep going…

What version of your own “heaven” are you creating?

Lately there’s been many around me that have battled a mindset of discontentment. However, in my perception, it’s not necessarily a circumstantial discontentment that could be alleviated with a given change or new reality. Maybe in their minds it is (and there’s no doubt circumstances affect it), but there’s a real sense of, well, plain joylessness.

Through a few convos lately and some good old fashion ponder and prayer, I think I’m on to something though. Let me tell you, it doesn’t need to be this way. The answer is easier than you’d think…

The Difference Between Facebook Restricted and Acquaintances Friends Lists

*Update: This has become my most trafficked post from Google search. However, I never wrote it to be a hit. In fact, I wrote it in about five minutes as an aside to my vlog post: “How To Use Facebook Friends Lists To Their Maximum Potential”. So while I’m glad you’re stopping by, you need to know that I was primarily writing for people and leaders in ministry of the Christian faith at the time. While I’ve pivoted much of my website purpose and content since then, I still believe what I said here and still use these lists to guard my heart and mind from unnecessary crap. So if you get snarky in the comments, I reserve the right to either delete it or use your silliness as an example for others to learn from. Your call. :)

Making lists keeps you in control of your Facebook presence

So you’re wondering what the differences are in Restricted and Acquaintances lists? I was too once!

They both have the ability to group people and limit their exposure to your posts and vice versa, right? Well, that’s good, but then why two!? How do you know which list to put people in!? Does it matter?

It does. Let me explain…

Mini Update – Rough Week Meant Silent Blog

The blog has sat silent this week. It’s been a hard week. Really. I’m more discouraged than I’ve been in a long, long time in my work. Especially if you’re one of my Missions Partners, I could use your prayer. Feel free to get in touch if you would like specifics. I was once far enough scheduled in advance to cover a week like this with blog posts ready to go, but what I have scheduled now was worth more …

I serve as the Director and Editor-In-Chief of The Majesty’s Men, a multi-faceted ministry and brand I founded in 2013 focused on facilitating friendship and mentoring between Christian.
